It's been a while since we've gotten a new Pat B. mix so I was really excited when I saw this one in my inbox. The title tells me we have a new series, and just going on the quality of the Listen To This mixes, we are all in for a treat. Let's all thank Pat for the wonderful iPod fodder now kiddies.

With this first release we start this endeavor with the aim of cultivating and creating something special, a collection of quality music, a vehicle for self expression, and I'm sure some great memories along the way. TFK 001 can be downloaded free on SoundCloud, all we ask is for some feedback. Yes the first rock is free folks...

It's about time for a tech house fix innit? This mix does not disappoint. Curtis Porter has that smooth mixing style I love, and he is very versatile. He can seamlessly weave a tapestry of sounds, then just sneak up on you and drop a bomb. He has the tools in his shed and he is not afraid to use them people. Everybody give it up for good DJs!

Here's what I know about Bucky Fargo... he is good at this DJ'ing thing, he has a dope radio show, he seems really nice and he answers his email. All great qualities! Now a little about this mix, this is Part 2 of a set at an after hours in a rundown warehouse on the south side of Chicago. November 15, 2008 to be exact.

This mix was recorded in the summer of 2005. This was just a few months into my digital foray and I was having a great time revisiting genres I hadn't for some time. That's one of the best things about digital music, it's cheap so you can buy a lot. Hear that kids, buy... buy the music. We'll be exploring some deep house at the onset but, it's not too long before we get down to business

Ok, I'm really excited about this one! I've heard every mix this guy has done in the last decade, he always brings it to the table, but this is my favorite mix he's done in a while. For the uninitiated Mike Balance is an amazing Producer / DJ, working closely with the In Stereo crew...

Well here's the first mix we've posted by this west coast house phenom, Jen Woolfe is an amazing DJ (and woman for that matter). She keeps it very funky for this mix, taking us through the paces with some perverted tech house out front to get your attention. Smart move!

The second mix in the series, and we have another instant classic. Pat Benolkin is literally one of the best DJs I know, and not to get all high and mighty... but that is saying something! Always a bastion of good taste Pat takes us on a journey into the deep. His selections speak louder with every transition...

Special thanks to Mr. Cantrelle for letting me share this mix. It is from a stacked night at Avaland, October 20, 2007. Coby One and I went to Hollywood to see Modeselektor. Sander Kleinenberg, Adam Beyer & Trent Cantrelle were there to round it out. Not a terrible lineup...

What he described to me as the first in a series, this mix is magnificent foreplay! Creeping through abstract bleeps, it gains momentum like a runaway freight train reaching a new level of energy right at the end. Pat B. definitely left me wanting more... so it's a good thing the next mix is already under way. Series work. Hot.
