<itunes:summary>Hello internet land, it's been a while... I've missed our sessions here and have a few goodies to share starting with a real doozy from our own dynamic duo Team Sexy (http://www.facebook.com/teamsexypdx). They put this on Soundcloud (http://soundcloud.com/teamsexypdx) a little while ago but I wanted to be sure all of you got the first installment of what promises to be a great series.

For those new to the Team Sexy experience is is comprised of Robby DeBolt (http://www.facebook.com/debolt2) (Kasher (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Kasher/145613512133592)), and Jeremy Shay (http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1598235500) (Hecca). These two can play just about anything, well known in Portland for their Dubstep sessions, this is their house centric tag teaming alter ego. Now that we all have name tags on, let's talk about the mix.

Leading off with some inviting deep house vibes, it quickly morphs into dance party USA. Interesting track selection, smooth mixes, and quality programming make this a joy to listen to. We wonder how many people will lose an hour dancing in their living room to this? It happens to everyone at some point, give up and give in... It feels real good.

A tag Team set of Sexy proportions... all for you.

As the opening of it all, it's logical and thoughtful. At this point I expect nothing less of Mr. Benolkin. He begins it like you would begin a party, subdued a bit, tribal, and warm to the touch. By the time I heard the familiar sample "I am ready", I was indeed. The momentum is constant, building very expertly until about two-thirds of the way through when the energy goes up another notch. His track selection, programming and mixing are fluid as always, and just as the name imparts... he left me primed and ready for part two.

Here's a little tech house love for you, perfect for the lead up to just about anything.. What will you use it for?

<itunes:summary>It's about time for a tech house fix innit? I stray but I can't wander long. I'm not sure what it is, maybe that I'm just incredibly cool... or maybe it is the water, but a large percentage of my friends are good DJs. Not just DJs, I mean really amazing selectors. Curtis has always been one of my favorites so when he dropped this gem in my inbox I felt like a kid on Christmas waiting for the time to give it a proper listen.

Curtis Porter has that smooth mixing style I love, and he is very versatile. He can seamlessly weave a tapestry of sounds, then just sneak up on you and drop a bomb. He has the tools in his shed and he is not afraid to use them. Everybody give it up for good DJs! There is so much back scratching and bull-shittery™ that on an average night out, you could be subjected to any number of horrors... Meanwhile a silent assassin like Mr. Porter sits untouched. What a tragedy.

Let's start demanding good music, not just that guy who booked that other guy that one time. There is so much more to being good at this craft than being a promoter. For now, you'll have to enjoy this in your place of residence, or maybe in your car on your way to aforementioned club night.

Hell just email Curtis, apparently he has a club in his casa.

Turn it up to eleven.

<itunes:summary>Is it just me or is Techno just good? I mean good techo, Bucky Fargo techno. I happened upon his radio show on Proton Radio one day. That's the second time on that site... randomly hearing a DJ I've never heard, just totally destroy it while I'm sitting in front of my computer. There are some quality shows on that site, check it out.

Here's what I know about Bucky Fargo... he is good at this DJ'ing thing, he has a dope radio show, he seems really nice and he answers his email. All great qualities! Now a little about this mix, this is Part 2 of a set at an after hours in a rundown warehouse on the south side of Chicago. November 15, 2008 to be exact. As DJs we face many battles, on this fated night he got "sound tech trying to be the DJ". I listened to the whole mix and Part 1 could have been great, without said sound guy. In this half you only hear him for the first track or two. Then some one must have taken that laaast shot of tequila for the night and passed out behind the racks, thank god. Cause the rest is amazing, and there's some really really solid selections here. Not for the faint of heart, this mix is true to it's roots... Chicago techno at it's finest.

Enough babble, you know what to do.

Bio
Rooted in the dark, spacey sounds of minimal house, Bucky Fargo takes audiences on tech-heavy ride suited for the after-midnight set. Growing up in the house epicenter of Chicago, Fargo took some points from the radio pioneers who crafted a weekly vibe on the Hot Mix 5 of WBMX 102.7. In junior high, he was known for carting around boxes of self-styled mix tapes and giving them to friends just to spread the house sound. After hunting down music of his interest in runned down warehouses, Bucky was quickly influenced by the rave scene in the 90 's

In no time Bucky was a seasoned conductor of the Midwest rave scene and playing some of the most respected club events acorss the tri state area. In 2004, he took his role as a DJ one step further, landing gigs on the trans-Atlantic party circuits of Eastern Europe and beyond.

These days, Fargo still works plenty of overseas play dates, joining the ranks of some of the most respected artists. The recent launch of this new label, Step Forward Recordings, has kept this minimal mastermind busy in Chicago. The imprint includes some of the premiere producers on the minimal scene. Launched in May 2007, the label spotlights an array of minimal tech-house talent, with Fargo as the main behind it all.

His long-and-layered transitions keep crowds wondering where the next breakdown will break. Pushing the boundaries and always experimenting with dance floors everywhere, Bucky is always keeping listeners on their feet. His work on Proton Radio combined with his recent migration back into the studio ensures that Fargo is clearly making heads turn.

<itunes:summary>I figured I should get all my mixes up here, why not. This mix was recorded in the summer of 2005. This was just a few months into my digital foray and I was having a great time revisiting genres I hadn't for some time. That's one of the best things about digital music, it's cheap so you can buy a lot. Hear that kids, buy... buy the music. Anyway, this mix was done just before I moved to Arizona. I had turned my attention to the future already, and hoped this would serve as a calling card for Phoenix promoters. I had no idea school was going to take up all of my time, and I would never really connect with the scene there. Somehow I did end up with a Friday residency at a fun bar, and a whole bunch of knowledge about audio. Until this point I had spent my entire career as a DJ as a Boise resident. Though I had traveled, I knew it was the beginning of new friendships and connections. The title is both a nod to computer nerds everywhere, and me introducing myself to the great unknown.

This mix was burned to 100 CDs, and as far as I know it has never been online, so you most likely haven't heard it yet. I just listened again and it's very smooth, and can be deceptive (yes gentlemen, wear a cup). Exploring some deep house at the onset with tracks that still get play in my crate, it's not too long before we get down to business.

This mix goes from deep, to dirty, acid jack, and then back. At least that's what I hear. I realize my description is useless for 98% of the population, but the other two are smiling. A very subtle banger here. Get you some.

Tracklist is coming... Swear

<itunes:summary>Ok, I'm really excited about this one! I've heard every mix this guy has done in the last decade, he always brings it to the table, but this is my favorite mix he's done in a while. For the uninitiated Mike Balance is an amazing Producer / DJ, working closely with the In Stereo crew to churn out some massive tunes for the dancefloor. Back in 1997, Mike was my first favorite DJ! Then under the moniker Ishy K, he always brought that funky house flavor. Even after trance took over I could always count on him to bring me the music I needed to hear in those dirty warehouse days. Ahhh nostalgia. Anyway, since then he has grown into a world class producer and still remains one of the coolest guys I know.

This mix starts off with a great remix of "The Geeks Were Right", and wastes no time getting to the face ripping, bass line madness. This mix is pure Electro House, 100% what's hot and right now. I'm pretty picky when it comes to this stuff, because there are so many DJs out there that just follow trends without regard for taste... this mix is a great example of a DJ who knows who he is, and can go there and keep it really natural and real. This music is so fresh I couldn't even get a track list, so let's play name that tune. In the comments leave posts with time and track name if you know it. And Mike said for anyone who really wants to know, just ask him.

No Track List Available

Includes tracks and remixes by: The Faint, Global Deejays, Wolfgang Gartner, Twocker, Dabruck & Klein, DJ Kue, Phonat, Mike Balance and more!
Bio
Mike has been DJing for over 14 years and has been involved with electronic music production even longer. In the past few years alone his remixes and originals have appeared on labels such as In Stereo, Hatrax, Solmatic and Audacious. Mike's tracks have hit the top ten hot sellers on both Beatport.com and Dancerecords.com in addition to landing on the charts of DJ Dan, Richard Vission, Angel Alanis, Charles Feelgood and Vitamin D to name a few. Don't miss MB's signature style of fun, funky and tweaky electro jams!

<itunes:summary>Well here's the first mix we've posted by this west coast house phenom, Jen Woolfe is an amazing DJ (and woman for that matter). I met her last year at Esthetic (http://www.estheticevolution.com), and instantly knew she was something special. She keeps it very funky for this mix, taking us through the paces with some perverted tech house out front to get your attention. Smart move! After a few nice bass heavy floor fillers she goes a little deeper keeping in line with those SF tendencies. She manages to navigate through a number of sub-genres and keeps it all together expertly. If you are in San Francisco be sure to look out for her, great music, great people!

Smooth-as-Silk Mixing with a Celestial Bassline - House, Nu Skool Breaks & Elegant Electro

Jen Woolfe began her DJ career in 2001, after realizing her favorite spot on the dance floor was two feet away from the DJ booth, watching the hands of every Deep and Tech House DJ to visit her hometown of Seattle. Jen began to play for Seattle clubs in early 2003. She also began promotions for events of her own, making a name for herself in both the club and party scene. In 2005, she launched a the legendary After Hours monthly, Creme, at the Leschi Lounge . At the same time, Jen returned to her Alt-Rock roots by fusing Dance with House & Funky New School Breaks and tinting her style with elegant Electro.

Jen's versatility allows her to play any time of night at any venue, always served with style. Her desire to bring together diverse communities under one groove has helped her to be one of the most loved and devoted DJ's in Seattle.

Jen is currently an affiliate of Dreemworld (http://www.dreemworld.com). She has played at venues across the U.S., including Seattle, San Francisco, Portland, Reno, Las Vegas, Vancouver B.C., Boston, Boise, Chicago, Idaho Falls, Grand Junction CO and Black Rock City, NV. Beyer & Trent Cantrelle were there to round it out. Not a terrible lineup... We arrived pretty early and immediately I was stuck in the main room. This guy I had never seen or heard was massaging a ridiculous system with some tech house. It was also my first time at Avalon, which I think is an amazing club. I had a hard time staying on the terrace, the main rooms setup just so inviting and bumpy. As the night went on this was the set that stuck in my head. Trent captained that room like a pro. Building the energy and emotion, really setting up the night for the rest of the crew... Don't forget to rate the mix, and let him know what you think.
